Life Tips

Here are some of the best tips, ranging from motivational to practical to funny that I have picked up and wanted to share.

21. Whenever life throws you a curve ball, consider it a character building situation.
20. Be on time for work. Show up a little early and stay a little late.
19. Listen to your spouse. It’s one thing to just hear her, it’s another thing to really listen.
18. Always have a needle and thread in your travel kit.
17. Be careful who you confide in.
16. Get to know your wines as well as local beers.
15. Never accept “I’m sorry, we can’t do that” from any retailer.
14. Don’t be afraid to fight for something if you believe in it and know you’re right.
13. You can make friends and enemies simply by leaving someone off a “cc” list.
12. Always keep building your network.
11. Remember your parents get smarter as you get older.
10. Success is 20% knowledge, 40% ability and 40% motivation.
9. Use your parents as sounding boards.
8. Never go food shopping when you’re hungry.
7. Get involved in a charity you believe in.
6. Stay out of the office gossip line. Don’t spread rumors. If you hear that somebody spread a rumor about you call them on it. They’ll never open their mouth again.
5. Call your parents once in awhile.
4. You can always steam out the wrinkles in a suit leaving it in the bathroom of your hotel room with the shower on hot.
3. When invited to somebody’s house for dinner take them a bottle of wine.
2. Never put anything in writing that you wouldn’t be willing to have the whole world read.
1. Never be satisfied with a goal you set yesterday.

What did or do you wish your parents would have told you?

Summer...where oh where have you gone...

OK, it has been entirely too long since I've posted anything. Times sure have been crazy...I just launched a cool tool to capture field wins (evidence) that will sync them with a SharePoint library and with one click create a PPT deck, while also being able to smartly cross-pollinate that content across our other knowledge properties....(think Amazon.com shopping experience here, searching for a camera and it's there saying "how about an SD card").

Also, I'm 2/3 done with the kids soccer season...coaching a 3/4 yr old and a 5/6 yr old team. Man, talk about chaos. BUT it is a blast!

SUMMER!!!

Really, summer is here? Hmm. Didn't it snow just a few weeks ago....

In the spirit of randomness...I'm addicted to Woot, have to check it daily, not sure why. You?

So, yeah, um, summer....can't wait to finish building the kids their fort. I know what you're thinking, yeah, for the kids...don't kid yourself, I'll be up there with water balloons lauching them at the neighbors. :)

Ah technology....AND sailing

I love it when two wonder things come together...this isn't new, but I had to express my joy.

Our crew regularly uses Ferry Weather (http://i90.atmos.washington.edu/ferry/Ferryjs/mainframe1.htm) which provides great wind speed and direction updates...This never rendered well in mobile IE and even worse in Opera or the native BB Browser.

BUT...now the Beta Skyfire browser allows us to view this perfectly!!

BTW...I'm currently using my BlackBerry Curve.
